Unique to traditional Tibetan visual art, mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning “world in harmony,” and is often used for meditation and healing. Designed for the beginning art enthusiast and educator who want to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the visual, students will explore the world of color, shape, line and form, and create a series of mandala drawings and 3-D masks.

Classes include supportive critiques of student work, as well as discussions of shared artistic concerns. Combining hands-on practice in studio art with study and analysis of the work of diverse artists, students will be encouraged to develop a clear philosophy and approach toward visual communication. Participants will be provided with a materials list.

http://www.lesley.edu/ce/ls/arts.html

Learning Styles: Multiple Intelligences

AUC Center for Learning and Teaching Faculty Workshops

Multiple Intelligences: Why it is vital in education today
Find out what learning styles are all about and how you can begin to incorporate this innovative approach in your teaching.
